Building a Smarter Pricing Strategy
Blackpool FC engaged GSW to investigate how the club could increase ticket revenue across its matchday operation, with a particular focus on building a more sustainable and commercially optimised approach to pricing.
PROBLEM
Blackpool FC’s ticket pricing structure was inefficient and inconsistent, leaving revenue opportunities untapped. The club lacked a coherent, data-driven pricing strategy and had underperforming areas within its pricing architecture
SOLUTION
GSW applied its established ticketing methodology — combining data analysis, pricing strategy, supporter consultation and operational review — to conduct a detailed audit of Blackpool’s pricing architecture, identify underperforming areas, and recommend targeted changes supported by a clear communication strategy and improvements to the digital booking journey.
RESULTS
Blackpool achieved a significant uplift in ticket revenue as a direct result of GSW’s engagement – without significant price increases for the majority of supporters. The improvements were achieved through strategy and communication, not simply charging more.
