Commonwealth Games silver lining for GSW’s track ace Jake

GSW track and field star Jake Minshull bagged a fantastic Commonwealth Games silver medal to make him the toast of English athletics.

The 21-year-old produced arguably the run of his life at the perfect moment to claim the runners-up spot in the 400m hurdles final at the flagship event in Glasgow.

The Coventry Godiva Harriers athlete ran a time of 48.99 seconds to finish behind gold medalist Nigeria’s Ezekiel Nathaniel and ahead of Jamaica’s Assinie Wilson.

Earlier in the day Jake had finished second in his qualifying heat but secured his spot in the final as the third fastest runner … before then wowing us all, as well as the nation, with his performance on such a big stage.

All of us at GSW are thrilled for Jake and incredibly proud of his achievement, and we look forward to continuing to support him as his career progresses and reaches even greater heights.
