Promotion winner Norburn reunites with former boss at Oldham
GSW client Ollie Norburn has capped a memorable fortnight by joining Oldham Athletic on a one-year contract with the option of a further year.
Late last month Norburn played a key role in Notts County’s League Two Play-Off Final win over Salford City. Now, he’s eyeing-up more success with the Latics.
The 33-year-old former Grenadian international made 40 appearances for Notts in all competitions last season and was a model of consistency as they set a promotion course.
The move to Boundary Park sees Norburn reunited with boss Micky Mellon, who he played under at Tranmere Rovers earlier in his career,
He told Oldham’s official website:
I’m happy to join a club that is on the up, I know the ambition of the club, I’m delighted to be here.
“I’ve been keeping an eye on Oldham for a while, since the gaffer came in it has been an upwards turn and it’s a great club with great history and I’m happy to be a part of that.
“I played under the gaffer ten years ago – that was a big pull and a reason why I’m here – but it’s also the ambition of where the club wants to get to and what they want to achieve.
“I’m looking to come in and play a big part in what can hopefully be a successful season.
All at GSW wish Ollie every success in the latest chapter of his career and we look forward to continuing to work closely with him.
