Weir agrees to summer Posh switch
Evan Weir has agreed to join Peterborough United on July when his contract with League Two Walsall expires.
The GSW client will sign a contract that commits him to Posh until at least the summer of 2029 with the option of an additional 12 months.
The defender spent two-and-a-half years with Walsall after joining them from Drogheda in his native Republic of Ireland. He went on to clock up 56 appearances and scored four goals.
Evan, 24, told Peterborough’s official website:
When I first heard of the interest, it was a move that was something that really appealed, the opportunity to move up a league and test myself at a new level.
I like to take set-pieces, I have scored a few goals and hopefully that will continue here. League One is a really exciting league with the teams coming down from the Championship, they are going to be good occasions, and I am really excited to play in front of the supporters.
GSW are delighted Evan has secured a move to Peterborough and we ook forward to continuing to support his career in the years to come.
