GSW recognised in global top 20 of agents

General Sports Worldwide has been recognised among the world’s top 20 football agencies by Transfermarkt following a successful summer transfer window.

The acknowledgement reflects the continued growth of GSW’s global football division, which has strengthened its representation of players and clubs across the UK and internationally.

They now represent more than 170 players – a 74% increase on 12 months ago – and this summer played key roles in £6million worth of transfers and the renegotiation of new contracts worth in the region of £15million.

The transfers included the James Scanlon’s switch from Manchester United to Arsenal and Luke Brooke-Smith’s move from Wellington Phoenix to Portsmouth, whilst Dan Ballard’s and Ben Wilmot’s improved agreements at Sunderland and Stoke City respectively headlined the new contracts.

GSW combines player representation with a wider range of services including career management, club advisory and commercial consultancy support.

GSW’s Chief Executive Officer, Sam Rush, said:

To be recognised by Transfermarkt among the top 20 football agencies in world football is a reflection of the hard work of everyone across our football division.

“The summer transfer window was another hugely positive period for GSW, but for us it is about much more than the activity of one window.

“We are focused on building long-term careers for our players, developing strong relationships with clubs and providing a level of support that extends well beyond the transfer process.

The recognition from Transfermarkt comes as GSW continues to expand its football operations and international footprint, supported by a growing team of licensed agents and specialists across talent identification, player liaison, performance, communications and commercial services.

Mark Gottlieb, GSW’s Executive Vice President, Global Football, added:

The experience, quality and depth of our team is a major part of what differentiates GSW. We offer players a genuinely global platform while maintaining a highly personal and dedicated approach to representation.
