Scanlon trades United for the Premier League Champions

GSW were delighted to help client James Scanlon complete his transfer to Premier League Champions Arsenal.

The 19-year-old Gibraltar international has joined The Gunners from Manchester United, signing an initial two-year contract.

As a key member of United’s Under-21 side James produced a number of eye-catching displays during his five-year stay in the North West – including a hat-trick against Portuguese giants Sporting in the Premier League International Cup last season.

He also had his first taste of senior league action last season whilst on loan with League Two Swindon Town where he marked his debut with a goal.

James has been capped 24 times at international level by Gibraltar and is now relishing the chance to continue his football development with the current title holders.

He told Arsenal’s official website: 

It’s a pleasure to be here, I can’t wait to get started. I’ve been waiting to get this over the line, so I’m buzzing to be here.

“I’m looking forward to playing, representing the badge, improving and hopefully showing people what I can do.

“I think you can see where the club’s at, [it’s] really positive and I think it’s only going to get better.

“You can see that everyone here is hungrier for more, hungrier to get better and I think that’s something I believe I can add to and want to be a part of as well.

“I’m a creative player, I like to score goals, assist, so hopefully I can excite players who watch me, and that’s what I’m here to do really.
